Like a ripple in a pond, the smallest change sends an echo throughout the Universe, the wind from a butterfly's wing can cause a typhoon on the other side of the world - such is the nature of the world. Hsiao Ch`u, the Wind flies majestically over the Heavens, nurturance by the small - strength, patience and humility. With the memories of our past and visions of our future, the Divine Order may pierce the veils of Time, seeing what approaches.
When an obstacle looms on the horizon, restraint and patience will aid in overcoming - humility is the best action. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts, the Divine Order has held strong against threats in the past and with the patience and careful planning practiced by our members, we shall endure against anything the fates choose to inflict upon us.
A symbol of this belief, The Hsaio Ch`u Staff, reminds us to always act judiciously and to consider every option available to us - hasty action may inflict more harm than good. The sacrifices made by past and future members, the continuity of change, are all parts of this staff.
Infused with the forces of Yin and Yang these humble staves possess a mighty power, the strength to change the universe. With such power comes a great responsibility and only our most dedicated members are gifted with this potent symbol.
