All you need is love?

I find that many of the questions I'm asked as a Diviner have to do with relationships. Love is such a hard thing to manage, I find. First, you have all kinds of relationships to account for: familiar, friendship/platonic, and the ever-commented romance. Then, you have the prospective relationships, the doomed relationships, the ongoing relationships, the terminating relationships. It's almost as if our lives revolve around maintaining all these different bridges. Some, you build, some you let crumble. It's exhausting!

I think, when it comes down to it, it's just how we function as humans. We chase those good emotions, and don't know what to do to keep them coming. We need relationships so badly, that we're desperate for guidance as to keep it all afloat, hyper-fixating.

Speaking of floating, I received a question of a rather spiritual nature for this edition of my advice column.
Clarity wrote in about a spiritual presence he sees when he meditates, and how he experiences such pleasant vibrations and emotions upon seeing this woman in his dreams and visions. He's worried that he'll stop seeing the visions of this figure that's brought him a lot of peace and joy. He also mentioned something about being lead to the Woodlands, where there is a barrier between him and this entity that inspires so much hope and emotion from him.

People are a balm for the soul, when they're good and fostering of you. In that essence, I ignited a stick of lemongrass-scented incense and took to gazing into a shard of amethyst.

At first blush, I wondered if he was being visited by a spirit while he sleeps and meditates. I was thinking to myself, I'm no Shaman, I don't have dominion over this sort of question. But, thinking more about it, I wondered if it's another gift he's tempering, one that's closer to my purview.

Gifts that don't come in a box

Diviners have gifts in what we call "piercing the veil." In laymen's terms, that comes in the form of either receiving visions of other places and times, or being able to glean meanings in signs that others wouldn't see. If one ponders into a raw crystal, like I am, they'll notice their own face being reflected in the various facets. Turning one's head or moving shifts the image across the lattices, giving the illusion of being in more than one place at a time.

Dreams and meditations are experiences where your consciousness can pass what is physical and present, as a side note, and those are important to a Diviner, too.

I wonder if Clarity, or this spiritual companion, is engaging in a sort of projection of the self. Or maybe, he is seeing visions of a place and time he needs to be, in order to break down the barrier between himself and this person that is sending their presence out to them. I'm not gifted in astral projection, myself, but I know others that do it - this art of sending our consciousness out of the body, while you are physically in a lucid state. Just like your face in a crystal's multiple surfaces, you're reflecting in more than one plane at a time.

I think this warrants more research on his behalf. If the figure he's seeing is real, and does indeed invoke such strong emotions from him, it's worth the try.

It could be a friend he hasn't met yet.

The conclusion

So, my advice would be to try to parse the when and where of going to the Woodlands, and what this barrier entails. It could be an actual force needing dissipating. And, I suggest performing some introspection of the nature of this cross-space communication, to see if it can be strengthened. In other words, determine if it's a vision, or a projection.

My advice to anyone else reading this column would also involve listening to your instincts. That persistent nagging could be a sign.

And also, if someone is a positive force in your life, nourish that. Don't let it be a fleeting thing due to negligence or negativity.

- The discipline to eat well, train, educate, meditate, and keep out the negativity in your life will help maintain your sheng ki. (This was answered in full in a private letter.)

Erenthar: Did the prince use demons to forge a weapon?
- Sounds like you're talking about Prince Mobon. I asked an officer of the KRA about this. He said there's no demon pacts involved, but the prince did go to Naraka recently to get metal to make a weapon.

XhealmanX: Will I be forever alone?
- Not at all! Look around you, you have lots of people that love you. Remember that romance isn't that only type of love.

Anhel: Should I move forward on this relationship?
- I'm informed that since he wrote this question, he already popped the question. She said yes
